Koi Dropsy caused by internal parasites?!

I’m happy to report that the skin damage/ sores are healing and furthermore her left side has reduced slightly. She seems a lot calmer, she’s not hiding and is breathing much less. But still spending time under the fountain.

I live remotely and have tried to find a vet who would come because I don’t like the idea at all of transporting her, I think that would be too stressful for her. I’ll find a solution to get someone to make the trip.

I have ordered the exact test strips you recommended Flex after your last reply, they are arriving tomorrow so I’ll make the test and post it!

I think the acriflavine was irritating her and I’m aware of its effects. It seems to have helped for the skin damage, hopefully I made the right call.

Once again thank you for your advice and knowledge I greatly appreciate it.

It was a long journey, but I am posting to report she has fully recovered!
Huge thank you for the support.
Hopefully this can give hope that dropsy does not have to be fatal, with the right support and with her fighting spirit she managed it! After the treatments I put her back in the main pond and made sure the water was healthy. I think movement and the joy of seeing her fellow koi’s helped her a lot.
Good luck and stay strong to anyone out there going through this.
